Overcharging and poor service in Lake Havasu, Arizona

Updated by user Sep 14, 2021

Suddenlink which is owned by public corporation Altice. ATUS on the stock exchange has a real scam going.

They have my credit card and did not take a final payment for service. Instead they turned it over to collection and added on equipment the new owners of our home are using on a new account. I wonder who owns the collection company? Also I wondered why when I looked up something on the internet I started get phone calls or ads about the subject.

Turns out they own an advertising company "Altice Advanced Advertising and Analytics" and are selling our 50 million authenticated Household IP Addresses and 15 Million viewing data. Profit at all costs while we settle for horrific service.

Original review Sep 14, 2021
Service was not as promised, internet not as fast, outages sometimes and no way to get in contact with service. Long times on telephone. Terrible Service and always raising the price with no notice. Transition on moves are horrible. Just take in the equipment and cancel. Don't try to be nice and let a new owner take over your equipment. They probably collect twice. When they call it is only to sell something.

Prices continue to sky rocket!

Suddenlink - Prices continue to sky rocket!
I have Internet only and was paying $99 a month for the past couple years and they just increased the, internet only, to $116.59 per month. I am getting 3.5 Mpbs download speed and have 2 computers and 5 TV's and it just doesn't cut it, but is the only option in town, until the new Clarksville Light & Water fiber internet network come on line. Can't wait!

They have been ripping off consumers here in the state of Arkansas for years and the Arkansas State Attorney General's office will do absolutely nothing about it, seems they are worthless, seem to be afraid of them ...

Bad company to do business with. I stopped my Internet service with them and they billed me for another month, then this month they sent a $10 late fee. The State Attorney General's Office will do nothing about them!

5/2018 We signed up with Suddenlink after retiring 2North Carolina. Unfortunately in order for us to bundle of landline Internet and TV. Suddenlink was the only communications company out there in our community that offered all three together. I have asked Suddenlink on numerous occasions to audit my account and check or fix our services theyve come out to switched out modem and claimed to have fix the problems only to find it was still doing the same thingAngry. We purchased a WiFi extender $117 and tried other fixes because suddenlink didnt and would not fix the problem so now all 3 are out, without WiFi no landline and the TVs pixelating and freezing all 3 services are out and has been for awhile. A tech came out on 2/2 and said that he had just left another customer home with same problems and that there was a lot of noise on the line that he didnt understand why this wasnt looked at when we originally signup. I also took a snapshot of his phone with the read of services coming into our home from pole outside. There were a lot of XXs which he said you have garbage coming from the pole has nothing to do with your home and suddenlink was aware and should have caught this before now. Adrian at Suddenlink Altice Corp office called on the 2/3 and claimed they would have it fixed well they havent and the local office claims to see no notes from Corp in regard to fixing in 48 hours which would have been by 2/5. Well here we are on the 8th and NOTHING. I let them know that my husband was not well and he only wants to watch his fishing and the Super Bowl sports, which he was not happy at all missing most of with freezing yesterday, so he just gave up and went bed. because of all the Lies Slowlink is telling people. I would venture to say based on our community page 50%+ are being affected by this. Everyone here is pissed alright. Ive even asked them to do an audit several times now, as I believe suddenlink to have double charged us for quite a few months. They bill one month in advance and if like me you forget and because I didnt trust automatic withdrawals if you forget and go past 1 day it kicks out another bill that has doubled and when I pay the balance the next months bill comes the same way any I pay $20+ extra a month and for whatever reason my extra $$ arent accumulating. They have Spectrum and Xfinity blocked in our community and Suddenlink Altice you would not have to worry about their competitors, if Slowlink weren't so busy being deceitful and pulling the ole BAIT AND SWITCH. I cant fax scan or anything without it crashing for hours, I have to go to a UPS, Office Depot. On a good day, I sometimes can fax 1 page at a time.

Harassment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Suddenlink is THE WORST business ever I dealt with during my entire, long enough, life. I wanted to cancel my services with them. During the cancelation over the phone, they harassed me by asking many questions that were not their business and telling me that they would not cancel my service if I did not answer all of them. It took me half an hour when I finally could cancel their service, no surprise why they are scoring so low.

Cost for establish customer vs New customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I called to cancel my cable TV and phone service with Suddenlink since it was getting VERY expensive for just basic cable. I was told that if I do that, my internet service would go up to $154.00 per month. They offer new customers $65.00 per month including the cost of modem rental and that's for unlimited and faster (1GIG) internet than I am getting. I am getting 400 Mbps.

After multiple calls to get back online that were unsuccessful, I finally made an appt for a technician to come out on Monday Sept 13 during the hours of 8-10. I waited until 9:45am and then called to see where my technician was. I was told that there was an outage in my area that required fixing and my appt was moved to 2-4 pm. (An inconvenient time for me) At this point, I hadnt had services for 6 days. No one called to let me know my appt was changed and the next available appt was Friday Sept 17 5-8pm (another inconvenient time)!
