Suddenlink Internet Review from Chino, California

The first year we had Suddenlink it seem to work fine. But then they oversold subscriptions for the capacity in Mammoth Lakes California.

For four years we could barely stream in the content over our high-speed Internet. We were paper 50 MB in receiving lesson 15. Suddenlink cover this up for four years. Beset technicians out several times who charged for visits.

They never could be never did fix the problem. Sometime in 2015 Suddenlink completed a new cable system which increase the capacity Mammoth Lakes. But it only works for a while and then they oversold more subscriptions I believe. Same problem not being able to stream anything.

At one point they admitted to their customers this was a problem and they were going to reimburse. We never did receive the reimbursement we still have in fear servicing barely stream anything unless it's 4 o'clock in the morning and they've sold to a foreign company.

The worst company I have ever dealt with. They keep rising the prices on my service without any notification even when I'm still in a promotional package deal.

I called them and they will not bring the prices back down. They were rude and kept telling me I was unreasonable for not accepting the price increase. Also, I suppose to have a 400Mb connection but I only get 180Mb.

I complained about that too but nothing has changed. They do not care and will not honor any agreement with their customers.

They sent me a message saying i have use over 80% of my streaming allowable. What the *** is this ! I diden't know i had a cap. I looking into finding a different. Supplier. There is a provider thats coming soon and it's unlimited., and with out a *** *** price. "Eldon from ENID oklahoma."

Bill and Transparency Issues

I chose to save them money and go paperless and use auto bill pay. No copies of past bills or account payment info on the customer website! I am also paying $150 each month for 50MB internet and very basic cable with no special channels and the current price for that for new customers is $80 and it includes a home phone. They were no help at all when I called. I was told they couldn't email me a copy of the last bill I paid - due to privacy issues. I was given a link in an email that said it was on the website - it is not on the website. I took screen captures and emailed back what I see on the website where they told me to look and the copies of monthly bills or statements are not available.

Incorrect Report on Credit File

Within the last week, this company reported an amount to my credit report as an amount owed for not returning equipment in 2011!! I have written documentation that it was returned in 2011, and again in 2012 (evidently no one at this place can complete anything) We had service again in 2013 because the equipment was marked as returned.

NOPE! Evidently now in 2016 this company decided to put the amount of the 'non-returned equipment' on my credit bureau. I have written documentation from 2011, 2012, 2013 and now last week that this was returned. Unfortunately I have realized that the easiest solution is to just pay it and be done.

I will not pay something I do not owe. I am filing formal complaints with Equifax & FCRA/FTC. YOU HAD ONE JOB Melanie 2011, Kay 2011 & Scott 2012. Does no one take pride in the jobs they perform?

Also, when I call for assistance, I am told I have to go to Local office. Local office sends an email and says they can't do anything, have to call collections, Call main number and am told no consumer is able to speak to collections department, but unfortunately the lady I spoke to at Regional office can't do anything, I have to go to local office. I would love to have a job where all I do is tell people "nope not me, have to talk to someone else" what do you get paid to do?? Why am I getting the run around on your error Suddenlink?

Why am I having to fight for my excellent credit score that you messed up with $156?!? I do not recommend anyone do business with a company that treats their customers like I have been treated.

High Price Tag for Low Quality Internet...with no other options available

I live in an apartment complex in Victoria TX and when I set up my Cable/internet/phone service Suddenlink was the ONLY company I could choose. I have 1 HD box...no DVR/TiVo with minimum amount of channels Basic Phone Service and 100mbps Internet Speed....which is the problem child of the bundle family! Every time I test my internet speed it has NEVER...I repeat NEVER has been over 20mbps in the last YEAR! And I face nightly interruptions in my internet service where nothing loads, plays, streams or works. And I know it's not my internet router because I've replaced it with a brand new one 3 months ago. my bill is $173-$177/month! I've called customer service twice about this issue and have gotten no where. Both time I called I was told that my router was to blame not their service and that all I had to do was buy a new one. I explained that I already purchased a new one and I was told that maybe that was broken too and I could always switch to a lower speed and save $10/month I'm a teacher...I'm on a very low income and still have student loans to be paid off...I can't keep paying $177 a month for a product that doesn't work as promised!!!!!!

i had the same issue them. my wife work from home 3 days a week and I 2 days a week. i am in I.T, by the way. they told us that we had 30mbps and we were pay for 30.

this is what they don't tell you, is that the 30, 50, 100 is burstable. that means you will not get your full speed or close to what you are paying for. i called CS many times and they told me the same thing, it is your router, if you rent one from us, things will be better. i asked them is my connection burstable, she asked me what is burstable.

they will try and blame everything on your router, even if it is new.

their CS are not very smart people. make sure you ask them for a flat speed.

I've been a Suddenlink Internet subscriber for over 5 years. It has always been less than reliable, and now (early 2016) it has gotten much worse. The connection drops out dozens of times a day. Sometimes it comes back in a few seconds. I'm not at home except evenings and weekends, and it is really important that the Internet be available at those times. There have been entire weekend days recently with no connection. No explanation. Trying to contact them is a menu machine nightmare. I can only compare them to cellphone telephone support. Don't expect reliable service from Suddenlink in Purcell OK.

I have had problem viewing my online account. The rep set up a new one to add paperless billing. I cannot access it, only showslast yearsbilling. Now my new bill has my last named spelled wrong. It has taken 3weeks to get this far. I am canceling phone service and staying with cell! I have had enough runaround with employees who cannot figure it out!

So bad it's sad.

Utter *** trash is what this company is. Being a college student I constantly need to have access to my computer and internet. Well 95% the internet doesn't even work. It's lagging out so bad that it's nearly impossible to do anything on it, apparently from what I've heard another company has bought Suddenlink out, and it's not been nice for us here in Pikeville Kentucky.

If it continues I, I will refuse to pay for a service as bad as that. Customer service is awful as it gets, when you need help they most of the time try to play it off like they can't do anything about it just so they don't have to get off of their sorry *** ***.

Do yourself a favor and go to another cable and internet company.

This *** is pathetic.

We are being forced to pay to use the Internet, that we already pay for.

Suddenlink used to have no such thing as an "Acceptable Use Policy", but since they introduced it we've had to pay loads of cash every month. Suddenlink's response to this, is their *** claim on how it improves the quality of service.

Hey Suddenlink, it actually reduces the quality since we can't even use the Internet that we already pay for.

So we're paying $103 a month for 100/7.5 Internet & Home phone (Which we were FORCED to upgrade to for to get more data), and we've done everything we can do to limit out data. We've stopped updating our computers, stopped downloading games, turned Netflix and YouTube on low quality, yet, we still surpass the 450GB limit EVERY MONTH. We've been charged around $100 total in the past year in data overages alone, not to mention a month that clearly shows we never went over (After we upgraded to 525GB), yet, that month we're charged $20 in overage fees. This is unacceptable.

If suddenlink wants to cap internet, go ahead, just don't cap it so low. I'd be happy if the cap was 2000GB, not 350GB. I'd also be happy if the overage charge was $1 per 50GB, not $10 per 50GB.

And I'll just say this. I don't care about data caps in situations where as the Internet connection is free, but you're charged like $10 for every 100GB you use, but when I already pay a massive amount for an Internet connection, and then I'm being forced to pay to USE IT, that's a problem and it should be illegal.

SUDDELINK BOYCOTT FOR MARCH 1ST 2016. all customers of SUDENLINK Cable who are not onboard with suddenlink , SUDDENLY capping your internet and gouging you for more money, it's illegal but your State will allow it because they want the extra taxes or they would have stoped them already but filling a complaint to the Attorney general is still a good idea.

March 1st call Suddenlink and and tell them you plan cancel everything in on April 1st because of price gouging and I mean call them like you mean it because I do mean it. If we allow this outrage it will get worse not better. wE DID NOT BUY A CELL PHONE PLAN .Please pass this on , we must show them we have the balls to shut it down because they are wrong or they win. We the good customers must send them the sudden message they gave us.

I will not be bullied and our state must support us on this. REMEMBER MARCH 1ST , HELLO SUDDELINK, I PLAN TO SHUT DOWN EVERY THING IN APRIL BECAUSE OF PRICE GOUGING AND WILL CALL YOU AGAIN IN APRIL TO DO THIS. My monthly service has gone from $97 a month to $201.93 for the same service in less than 3 years time. In that time frame, Suddenlink has actually taken away everyones unlimited internet service and has been measuring it ( which I fall well below the monthly amount), so its fair to say I actually am getting less service than i began with at more than double the cost. I called them to try to work something out and was pretty much told sorry about your luck. Im tired of playing this game of having to switch carriers every couple years but these people leave us no options.

I've had the same issues. They are the only actual broadband provider in my area.

After I was basically forced to upgrade (cost to pay overages was higher than just upgrading to next tier). Not even a month after upgrading they added an extra $3.50 to the bill because of (reasons). And the fcc complaint got me no where either.

But from my experience in customer service. If you act like a nasty customer, yell, get mad, be plum crazy then you'll get your way.

They take advantage of people who have limited to no other option but to use them as a provider. And They do take away channels and add money to the bill. The customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with in my life. I have been looking into other options for my services direct TV Hughes net frontier ext.

Enough is Enough suddenlink u néed to get with the program we the paying people have had ENOUGH. There are other options and you are gonna lose 600 a month with mine and my mother's services being cancelled alone.

Sunrise Bay is out. On and mostly off all day. I called to see what's going on, they wanted to trouble shoot over the phone. They made it seem like mine was the only house out. When I specifically askedif I am, that's when I was told that there are a couple of others. P.S. someone told my wife that there was going th be maintanance last night, she gamed all night (no school today) then the Internet goes down at 10:00; imagine that.Service scheduled between 1 and 5. Suddenlink please respond.

Internet over charge

i have internet and the past 2 months my bill is out the roof i dont know why. i have been trying to get help with this charge but every one keeps running me around telling me there self thats theres no way it should be this high i,am tired of it all seems like you could just say yes or no that you are not going to do anything but i will not pay this bogus charge my bill might be a little high but i know its not as much as you say your own people say its wrong thats it is not possible most companys are not that much so please fix this

Check your Netflix settings if your have it. If they are on high or auto and you watch a lot of Netflix, it will kill escalate your data usage levels.

Suddenlink really is the worst company on earth! There’s an old saying that you get what you pay for……not with Suddenlink!

With SuddenStink you pay premium prices for intermittent service at best. Why don’t you rethink your protocol, mission statement and growth without quality policies! How much money do you spend on tv commercials telling the world how great your service is? Why not spend the advertising money on improving your services and make your claims come true?
