I ordered internet with suddenlink online for 54.99 a month + taxes and fees with free installation. Not only was I charged for installing but I am being charged 2 separate internet fees. I have had service for less then 2 months and am already behind by $250. I have contacted customer service 7 times. Each person says they've fixed my problem but nothing has been fixed.

Poor service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Initial tech claimed he could not hook up where I requested. It took a supervisor. Location was outside wall by garage. Service has been poor at best during the day. They claim they throddled back my 1G service to help COVID people. Keeps dropping Zoom calls and will gonupnand down multiple times a day. Finally buried the cable, unannounced after 2 months. Month 2+ service is poor sending out a tech tomorrow. They have auto called me 3times in the past 6hours to see if I still have a problem. You identified the problem. It will still be here until you fix it.

Billing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Greetings. I have used suddenlink for a couple years since my divorce at my apartment never had any issues. I moved to a house and did the online process of moving my service to my new home. Had some issues with my phone number still being under my old phone number which i couldnt remember but was able to get a tech out after my move to set up my internet. I still had my modem from my apartment which was new so the tech just installed that modem and went on his way. Now, to just 2 days ago i recieved a bill to my new address tgat says i owe late fees on my bill. I log onto my sudden link acct and see i owe 0$ on there (i have screen shots) i also checked my bank acct checking that nothing came out for the month of april and all i see is march 3rd payment. I go back look at the bill on paper and i see i have a different acct number. I was never told my acct would be changed once i moved. I thought the payment was going to come out automatic like i discussed with the person on the phone when moving my service. I owe almost 300 dollars now. I can pay the actual bill itself but not the late fees. Also, what do i do now that my email is linked to my old act which is still to my old apartment address? How to i link accts to that email or get rid if the old address. None of this was brought to my attention during me setting up moving my service. I'm emailing due to the high wait times of calls and me working during daytime hours.Thank you for your time.

You asked for feedback

Following your intervention, whether it was the cause I don't know, I did finally get a response from Suddenlink and they arranged to send a technician to my home who did a thorough check out of their hookup/setup, replaced a couple of items, and assured me that any remaining problems, if any, would be matters pertaining to my computer and its programing.

Complaint

I received my bill Saturday, April 11, after reviewing my bill I noticed a 54.00 on demand charge, and we still don't know what WWE is. I called immediately that day. My husband and I live alone and neither one of us order this. Talking with customer service they told me they couldn't help, I must have ordered it by mistake!!! Really !! I'm a registered nurse I think I know how to order a movie. My second call was today April 16, I was told if I had cancelled it on the day it was ordered I wouldn't be charged!!! How was I supposed to cancel something I didn't know about until I reviewed my bill??? I don't know how my account was charge for this, all I know is neither me nor my husband ordered this, and we want our account credited. Pat Chmiel

Suddenlink Care should be labeled Suddenlink DOESN'T CARE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On March 18 or 19, two or three days before my father passed away, I switched his phone service from Frontier ($54 per month) to Suddenlink for $5 per month. Despite promises that the old number would be ported over from Frontier the next day, this did not happen. None of my father's family or friends had the ability to contact me about his death. The number has not been ported over nearly a month later (April 13). For the last 2 weeks, there has been no phone service at all, and I am still paying Frontier to keep the old number active until it can be ported to Suddenlink. I have been told at least 3 times that the number would be ported, but it has not happened. I had a 10 am appointment today, and at 3 pm they have not arrived. Their virtual agent is a joke; after it decides to give you a person for chat, the circle spins for so long that you miss the rep when they finally come on line, and leave no message to indicate they read your words to their cheap virtual agent. The company needs to hire a sufficient number of QUALIFIED customer service reps to provide any evidence whatsoever that they care about the people paying for their service!

BEWARE of Suddenlink deceptive cancellation policy!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
BEWARE of Suddenlink deceptive cancellation policy!!
I went in to the local Suddenlink office to cancel my service as we had moved to another city a few weeks prior. I was back in town to pick up some remaining items at the house and decided to take the Suddenlink modem / router back. When I went in to the local office, the CSR took the modem / router and gave me a receipt. She asked if I was cancelling service since all that I had with them was the Internet service. I told her that yes, we had moved and was bringing the modem back. She then proceeded to tell me that although we were only in to the month by 5 days, I was not going to be getting a refund for the remaining 3+ weeks that I had paid for. When I asked to speak to a Supervisor, she handed me a business card with Technical Support stamped on it. She said that it was policy that regardless of when you cancel service, there is no pro-rated refund, and she couldn't do anything about it. When I asked to speak to a Supervisor, she handed me a business card with Technical Support stamped on it and said that I had to call that number (888-822-****) and plead my case with them!!! WHAT??? I told her that I'd never had to do that with any other similar utility (phone, etc.), and her response was..."We can do that because we're a luxury, not a utility". WHAT????? What kind of customer service is this!?!??!?! Long story short, I called the number and the guy on the other end refused to talk to me because I didn't know my Access Code or the MAC address of the modem that I had just turned in, and I was on the road on the way out of town. Thinking that I'd just suck it up and chalk this up as a "lesson-learned", I was pleasantly (not) surprised when I got a statement in the mail today for ANOTHER MONTH's service! When I called to speak to the Billing Department (yet again), I was told (after 45 minutes on the phone), that not only did I owe another month, but a $10 late fee as well. WOW. My advice, is to not use Suddenlink for anything unless it's the last resort. I will admit that both the CSR and the Supervisor that I spoke to were very professional and kept them calm, however Suddenlink / Altice are crooks and after every dime that they can squeeze out of you, even after you cancel your service! BEWARE!!!
